Dr. Kendyl Sumbry Tarver is a multitalented, highly motivated educator, author, and advocate for healing and personal growth. She holds a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Teaching and has extensive experience in early childhood education, elementary education, and higher learning.
Beyond academia, Dr. Tarver’s mission extends far beyond the classroom. She is deeply passionate about supporting and encouraging people in all aspects of life, especially those navigating grief and loss.
As the eldest granddaughter of the Late Honorable Arthur L. Sumbry, Sr.—a respected city councilman and undertaker— Dr. Tarver grew up witnessing firsthand the realities of death and mourning. Through her own personal experiences with grief, she has committed herself to helping others recognize and understand their own stages of grief, empowering them to begin their journey toward true healing.
But this isn’t just any journey.
This is a journey toward Good Grief—one rooted in faith, resilience, and the unwavering belief that healing is possible.
